Who loves new books? The scent of new books has hit the Malden library! The Malden Library just received large boxes of new kids, J, J NF and YA books thanks to the Pilcrow Foundation's Children’s Book Project Grant, generously matched by the Friends of Whitman County Library. Thank you to all who made this wonderful addition possible. We have lots of new books about gardening, summer activities and all around amazing titles for you to look through. The Colfax, Albion and Rosalia branches got some too.

Thank you Miss Carolyn for the Easter baskets! The kids were also able to bring baskets home to their siblings if they couldn’t make it to the library. Don’t forget the town of Malden is having their annual Easter Celebration this Saturday at 1 pm. We hope everyone has a great weekend.

Kids Garden club every Monday starting at 330.
Today we had a wonderful treat from Miss Jeanne. She brought homemade strawberry jam (we have some fun things planned for the summer, one activity is making our own jams). We also learned why the seed sprouts were all leaning towards one way. They were growing towards the sunlight. So we made sure to turn all of our pants so that they will grow the other way now. The kids weeded out a couple little weeds that popped up also.

Always nice to have a full library. Crafts, gardening, computer use, reading books.

This is a great opportunity for homeschool families.

I am so sorry for the short notice but this Saturday there will be a Homeschool Swap and Meet from 11am-1pm at the Rosalia- 526 S. Whitman Ave. The idea is for homeschoolers to build community and also share, sell or trade excess curriculum and other materials. This is a new program and will probably be repeated so if you have questions, please just stop by and we will figure it out!

We had a great turn out for the kids garden event. The kids had a great garden lesson, then they were able to pick out 3 different kinds of seeds that we will be planting next week. Kids are still welcome to come pick out their seeds. There are lots of seeds in our seed library for pickup.
