Update (6/5/2026): Sanitary sewer system cleaning is about a week behind for all areas. Notification tags will be placed on the front doors at least 24 hours in advance of work in the area.

🚧 Sanitary Sewer System Cleaning Notice 🚧

Mayer Specialty Services will be cleaning the sanitary sewer system on weekdays between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM in the areas highlighted on the map.

Residents in affected areas will receive a yellow door tag at least 24 hours before work begins in their area. Please review the tag carefully and help us prepare by:

✔️ Unlocking all gates
✔️ Securing pets indoors
✔️ Making sure City easements are accessible on the dates listed on your yellow tag

Water and drains may be used as normal during the project, and most residents likely won’t even notice the work being completed.

The City of Maize is saddened to learn of the passing of longtime community member Tom Inkelaar. Alongside his wife Nancy, Tom owned and operated TMC’s Home Center from 1975 until 2012, when the business was sold to Pride Ag Ace Hardware. Through decades of service to the community, Tom became known not only for his dedication to local business, but for his kindness and willingness to help others. Many residents remember Tom opening the store after hours when someone was in need or making service calls to help community members at their homes.

Tom’s impact on the Maize community spans generations, and his legacy of service and care will not be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Inkelaar family and all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held 10:30am on June 6 at the Ark Church.
