PUBLIC MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY 5:30 TO 7:30 AT THE LIBRARY

The Village of Mahomet will hold a Public Information Meeting for seeking public support for Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) Grant Applications for the following projects:
• Shared Use Path Bridge over the Sangamon River: this project will include rehabilitation of the Truss Bridge over the Sangamon, namely the reconstruction of the north abutment. It will also include some enhancements such as lighting, benches, and a welcoming entry at the north end of the bridge.
• East Mahomet Shared Use Path Connectivity Project: This project will include construction of the path gap between the library and the commercial area that includes McDonald’s, pedestrian movements and path connections at the Prairieview Rd and US 150 (Oak Street) signalized intersection, and a path connection on the west side of Prairieview Road from Patton Drive to South Mahomet Road.

The public information meeting will be held at the Mahomet Public Library 1702 E Oak St, Mahomet, IL, on September 2, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting. Persons with a disability planning to attend this meeting should contact the person listed in this Notice by 4pm September 1, 2026, to make arrangements for participating. The contact may be by telephone, in writing (email), by fax or by telecommunications device for the deaf (TTY).

Light refreshments will be provided.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE-County Road 2000 is closed between Spring Lake Road and County Road 150 due to flooding.

The public works department will be spraying for weeds the week of August 17, 2026-August 21, 2026. The area that will be treated is from Center Street to Lombard and Franklin to Dunbar. This will include the streets, sidewalks, and parks as needed.

Representatives with Sun Run Solar have obtained a Solicitation Permit for the following days; August 7-8 and August 10-12. As a reminder, solicitation is permitted Monday-Saturday from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. All solicitors must carry the Village issued permit with them at all times and residents should always ask to see the current permit.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE- State Street is closed between Division and Lincoln to complete road repair. Residents will have access while the repair is being done. It is expected to re-open on Saturday August 8, 2026 in the afternoon.
