🇺🇸 Happy Constitution Day! Today, we commemorate September 17, 1787, when the Founding Fathers signed the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia!

Mr. Roush’s 8th grade Social Studies students are celebrating Constitution Day by learning about the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, and how American government began. 📚🇺🇸

It’s a great day to learn more about the document that continues to shape our government, rights, and freedoms!

Tales as old as time: Sandy Valley’s second graders recently celebrated the end of their Fairy Tales and Tall Tales unit with a day full of imagination and fun! 🎉

After exploring stories filled with memorable characters, exciting adventures, and important lessons, our Cardinals brought their favorite characters to life by dressing up as heroes, royalty, and magical figures.

The celebration also included a pancake feast Paul Bunyan would have loved! It was a fun-filled way for to celebrate their learning all about storytelling. 💕

🎉 We’re continuing our “Meet Our New Staff” series with Alison Ullom, our new 1st Grade Teacher! Alison graduated with her degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State Tuscarawas, and we are thrilled that she’s starting an exciting new chapter here at Sandy Valley! ❤️

🍎 For Alison, one of the best parts of teaching is watching her students grow throughout the year. She says it’s “magical to see how much they learn and grow in a school year!” ✨

And if you think Alison is busy at school, just wait until you hear about her crew at home! She and her husband, Cory, have three daughters - Callie, Harper and Zoey - along with two dogs, seven cats and 11 chickens! 🐶🐱🐔 That’s a whole lot of Cardinal energy!

When she’s not teaching or spending time with her family, Alison loves to travel, create classroom resources and decorations, and golf! ⛳️😄

And one of Alison’s proudest accomplishments is earning her degree, not just for herself, but to show her daughters that anything is possible and it’s never too late to pursue your goals. 👏🎓
