UPDATE: Original post said that the Perry bus will leave at 6:25. It will leave Sandy Valley at 6:20

This message is for our students that attend a career-tech/vocational program. Canton South's orientation for career-tech is Tuesday, August 12th at 6:00. Perry's orientation is Wednesday, August 13th at 6:00. Students will continue to use their Sandy Valley Chromebook at Canton South and Perry. For students who attend Canton South, you can pick up your Sandy Valley schedule during our Back to School Bash August 14th, from 4:00 - 7:30.

Sandy Valley classes will start on August 19th. However, any classes at Canton South or Perry will not start until Thursday, August 21st. So, our students that attend Canton South will need to attend any Sandy Valley classes starting that Tuesday While these students will not have Canton South on the first few days, attendance is required. Busing/transportation for Canton South, Perry, and SV Agriculture will also start Thursday, August 21st.

Students riding the bus to Perry will need to be in the student parking lot and ready to catch the bus at 6:20 am - please be on time. Canton South Juniors and RG Drage students will catch the bus by the Cardinal statue (outside of the cafeteria event entrance) at 7:25 am. Canton South Seniors are able to ride the bus to South at 11:15 -- students will be dismissed from lunch to the front of the high school. These students will be able to ride their regular bus home from Sandy Valley at the end of the day.

Sandy Valley Agriculture will have an orientation August 14th from 4 - 7:30

RG Drage Juniors start August 19th. Drage Seniors start August 20th.

Buckeye Career Center first day for SV students is August 19th. Students must provide their own transportation for Buckeye.

We are looking for barbers or stylists to volunteer to cut our young Cardinals' hair at our Back to School Bash on August 14th! The event will run from 4 - 7:30 but you can book a time that works for your schedule! Please pass this on to those that may be interested. 🎓 Attention High School Seniors from East Canton, Sandy Valley or Canton Local School Districts…it’s that time of year to be wrapping up all your scholarship applications and Bridge Point is looking for applicants for our Points of Hope Community Scholarship. Once again, we will be giving out 3-$1,000 scholarships to local students.

Exciting News: Free Driver’s Education Now Available for all SV Students!

Dear Sandy Valley Students and Families,

We are excited to share that the Department of Public Safety has approved a modification to our grant program! As a CEP-qualified location, all SV students are now eligible to receive free driver’s education through the Drive to Succeed Student Grant Program.

What You Need to Know:
📌 This program covers up to $375 for driver’s training through the East Central Ohio ESC Drivers Training School.
📌 Grant funding will be paid directly to the training school.
📌 Students must meet basic eligibility requirements, including school attendance verification and a letter of recommendation from a school representative.

- Have not had more than one unexcused absence for the current school year.
- Have the ability to attend the program at the East Central Ohio ESC 834 E. High Ave. New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.

How to Apply:

✅ Complete and return the application to Mr. White, who will forward it on for review

➡ Important Information for students in grades 6-12 regarding the new semester:

Due to the inclement weather days, all Sandy Valley High School and Middle School students will report to their 1st semester class tomorrow, January 23. The semester will now end on Friday, January 24, 2025.

SVHS students who participate in the SSCA Program will follow the 2nd semester courses at South and Perry and their 1st semester courses at Sandy Valley through Friday, January 24th. The new Sandy Valley semester will begin on Monday, January 27th.
