🚨 Five Days. One Team. Hours of Training. 🚨
Today, Monroe County Rescue Squad wrapped up an intense five day Vehicle Extrication Class, and we couldn’t be more proud of the men and women who showed up, got dirty, learned new skills, and pushed themselves to become better rescuers.
This class brought together new members, members who have been with us for a while, and seasoned veterans, all standing side by side with the same goal: to be ready when somebody needs us most.
Vehicle extrication is more than cutting metal and taking cars apart. It’s understanding how vehicles are built, knowing how they react, working safely under pressure, communicating with your team, and making good decisions when it comes down to the wire.
For our newer members, this was an opportunity to build a strong foundation. For those with more experience, it was a chance to sharpen their skills and share the knowledge they’ve gained over the years. And for our veterans, it was another reminder that there is always something new to learn and another generation of rescuers to teach.
Five days of hard work, teamwork, problem-solving, and a whole lot of sweat came down to one simple purpose:
When the call comes, we want to be ready.
