It's National Dairy Month, and Wisconsin is leading the "whey!" 🧀🥛

Dairy isn't just our passion; it's a massive part of our state, contributing over $45 billion annually to Wisconsin's economy. Help us celebrate America's DairyLand this June by visiting a local Breakfast on the Farm, snacking on some local cheese, or enjoying a cold glass of milk!

Governor Evers recently signed an executive order restoring Wisconsin’s commutation process. Shockingly, among those being considered for early release is Ted Oswald, convicted of the brutal 1994 murder of Waukesha Police Captain James Lutz.

Releasing perpetrators of the most heinous, violent crimes is a direct threat to public safety. That is why I joined 40 of my Republican colleagues in demanding that Governor Evers reconsider this dangerous program.

For the safety of all Wisconsinites, we must protect our communities and stand with law enforcement.

I was a proud “yes” on a bipartisan bill that addressed the state’s $2.5 billion surplus. The logic behind my vote was simple: Wisconsinites need relief now, and this deal was a starting point.

If it were up to Republican lawmakers, the entire surplus would go back to the taxpayers. The reality is Wisconsinites voted for divided government, so a compromise was needed in order to deliver immediate relief.

The plan was to send roughly 80% of the surplus back to the taxpayers. The remaining amount would be used to increase the special education reimbursement rate.

I believed this was a reasonable compromise, and according to a recent Marquette University poll, 80% of Wisconsin adults agreed. Unfortunately, the bill failed to pass the State Senate, leaving your hard-earned money in the state’s hands.

Earlier this month, I attended the Waukesha County Police Chief Association's Annual Legislative Roundtable. At the event, local law enforcement shared their policy priorities and department needs.

Thank you for the insightful discussion! I look forward to continuing this conversation with my colleagues in Madison.

Last night, a bill to utilize $1.8 billion of projected surplus revenue failed to pass the State Senate.

I am extremely disappointed that politics got in the way of good policy. This bill would have ended the tax on cash tips and overtime, given schools $300 million in additional special education funding, provided $350 million in property tax relief, and given income tax payers $600/$300 as a rebate check.

Despite twelve hours of negotiations and an amendment, we were unable to secure two additional Senators to support the bill.
