I'm honored to be included on The Capital Times' progressive slate.

To me, progressive means envisioning and enacting policies that expand opportunity and reduce disparities. It means making government accessible and accountable. It means being rooted in community. It means questioning the status quo. It means digging into data. It means prioritizing healthy neighborhoods and environments.

These are the values that led me to run for office, after decades of grassroots and neighborhood activism. I ask for your vote tomorrow, because I know we can go farther together.

I'm honored to be included in Brava Magazine's profiles of engaged community members!

“For me the underlying thing is how do we build community and how do we expand what community means?” Farsetta says. “Because Madison is a wonderful place to live for a lot of people, but not for everybody, right? And we need to keep on challenging ourselves to make that definition of community broader.”

One of the most rewarding ways to get active is by engaging in one’s community. Opportunities to get involved are plentiful in the Madison area.

I did tell the State Journal that I don't support police body cameras. We know that cameras would make some people, including immigrants and domestic violence survivors, hesitant to call for help. There are considerable costs and time involved with properly securing and maintaining an ever-expanding body of sensitive video footage. Unfortunately, we know from dash cam and bystander video that such evidence doesn't necessarily mean that justice is served. And there are better ways for us to support police excellence and accountability, such as the training and oversight recommendations in the OIR Report.

The social determinants of health matter. According to the new County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, Dane County lags on:
* Premature death rates, which are twice as high for black than for white residents;
* Limited access to healthy foods;
* Air pollution;
* Severe housing problems; and
* Severe housing cost burden

Final recommendations will then be presented to the County Board."
