A new chapter begins in West Philly!

Ardella’s House West opens its doors to empower women returning from prison — providing hope, housing, and a fresh start.

"We’re proud to welcome Ardella’s House West into the SAFE Housing Network, expanding our shared mission to provide women with safety, stability, and the tools to thrive,” said Susan Burton.

“Every year, nearly 43,000 women return home from Pennsylvania’s jails and prisons, a powerful reminder of the urgent need for safe, supportive housing. Ardella’s will provide women with the housing and support they need to rebuild their lives and break the cycle of incarceration."

We want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to our photographer Carol. What an awesome job showcasing the evening. ❤️

Photography has always been a huge passion of mine. I love capturing the beauty and special moments in life with something that can be cherished forever. Having the ability to look back at the photographs as if time had stood still is a wonderful gift.

What an unforgettable night! 💛🖤
Last week’s Empowerment Through Connections event reminded us why this work matters. The room was filled with energy, laughter, and deep conversation — a true reflection of what happens when community, compassion, and purpose come together.
We are so grateful to everyone who showed up, shared space with us, and supported our mission to uplift the voices of those most impacted by the justice system. Your presence, your stories, and your belief in The Voices of Power (TVOP) make all the difference.
To our panelists, partners, and sponsors — thank you for standing with us and helping build bridges that lead to healing and change.
Here are a few moments that capture the spirit of the evening.
Let’s keep this movement going — together, we are transforming systems and rewriting what’s possible.

We want to thank everyone who came out to support our One Year Anniversary fundraiser to support the work we are doing. We also want to thank our sponsors who stepped up to make sure this ever went off without a snag. Look forward to connecting with the people and energy that was created.

This Thursday, we’re coming together to celebrate connection, healing, and the power of lived experience to create change. The Voices of Power has been working to build bridges between communities, transform systems, and uplift those whose voices are too often overlooked.

Your support—whether by showing up, donating, or simply sharing this event—helps us continue this vital work. Let’s stand together to remind our community what’s possible when we invest in people, not punishment.

Yes, it definitely is a tool that many people find beneficial incorporating into their daily routines to help find peace in times of chaos.

What if a mindfulness-based, trauma-sensitive curriculum for formerly incarcerated people could improve mental health and wellbeing, and support their transition from prison back into the community? A new study at CHM will investigate.

We had an very inspiring visit last Friday with Warden Taylor and her staff at the RYOC youth facility. We would like to thank them for the willingness to be open and welcoming to our group discussion. There were some difficult topics on the table and everyone seemed to lean into them. She understands that something different needs to take place for there to be substantial and long term change. Not just for the resident's but for staff as well. I look forward to the possibilities this could bring.
