No one should be denied a chance at a higher education if they are smart and capable enough but are unable to afford it. That’s why I introduced the Pell Grant Preservation and Expansion Act with Congressman Bobby Scott, Senator Mazie K. Hirono, U.S. Senator Patty Murray, Senator Jack Reed, and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to double the maximum Pell Grant, protect the program from future cuts, and expand eligibility to ensure college is attainable for every student.

We don't allow banks to call themselves the U.S. Treasury Investment Fund. We don't allow delivery companies to call themselves USPS Plus. So why allow health insurance companies to call private insurance Medicare Advantage? My bill with Rep. Ro Khanna and Rep. Jan Schakowsky, the Save Medicare Act, would fix this.
