From Ted Ensminger - To everyone who supported my campaign during the last six months or so, I sincerely thank you and regretfully report, A for effort, F for results. I congratulate Ronnie Moore for his resounding victory this evening. I wish him the best of luck and extend best wishes for a tenure that will bring economic growth and unity to Madison County.

During the past 20 days, I have enjoyed some spirited dialog here on the MadisonYES page, but tomorrow is Election Day; it’s time to make a choice.

What can voters expect from me if I’m elected?

A fierce effort:

· To bring new businesses and new jobs into Madison County

· To pull Madison County out of its economic quagmire

· To partner with our school system to raise our scores

· To get Wal-Mart into Madison County

· To develop key historical events in the Greenville market

· To bring business into the county that will give our young people things to do

· To promote our historic and natural resources with signs on Interstate 10

· A passionate open door policy and regular town hall meetings

My name is Ted “BEAR” Ensminger. I am a candidate for County Commissioner, District 3, and I’d appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Please vote tomorrow!

Worship today. It is one of our most cherished freedoms. Pray for all of our leaders, locally and nationally. Pray that the people who are elected are the ones that can best serve our community and our nation. Pray that those elected will erase the divided spirit that is upon us. United we stand, divided we fall. Pray for what is best for us all.

From Ted Ensminger – The other day, while I campaigned door-to-door, an elderly lady asked me if I was going to do a better job than those who served before me. Almost by reflex, I responded, “If I can't do better, I will not run again.”

After giving that question some thought, I realized that there is more to the question than first occurred to me. Whether or not I do "a better job" depends on what she thinks constitutes a better job.

In my own mind, a county commissioner should take the initiative and make things happen that improves our quality of life. Several conditions exist in Madison County that we should no longer tolerate. Don't you think your county commissioner should work to find the solutions needed to resolve those conditions? Whether successful or not, he must never stop trying. He's working for you.

So perhaps the real answer to the lady’s question should come from you. It’s your turn. How can your county commissioner do a better job? What would you expect of him? Please share your thoughts.

From Ted Ensminger – During the past several months, voters have asked me “what makes you different from your opponent?”

That is a good question. In the past, I had the privilege of serving on a board or two with my opponent. He is a likable, intelligent man for whom I have the highest respect. Our biggest difference however, can be summed up in just one word – vision. We have different visions on what Madison County can be and we have different philosophies on how to get there.

I believe that a county commissioner needs to be pro-active, not reactive. I believe that a public servant should lead the charge for economic development with a passion. The MadisonYES landslide victory proved that the change we need is also the change we want! Someone has to lead the charge!

My name is Ted “BEAR” Ensminger and I am fighting like a bear for Madison County. I am a candidate for County Commission in District 3 and I humbly ask for your vote. If you do not live in District 3, you know someone who does. Early voting continues now through Saturday and Election Day is only four days away. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

From Ted Ensminger – For those of you who have been longing for change in Madison County, this is YOUR YEAR!! Take just a moment and think about all of the changes that will take place in this election year alone:
New County Commissioner – District 3
New County Commissioner – District 5
New County Judge – Bailey Browning
New County Tax Collector
New Supervisor of Elections
New Superintendent of Schools
A new appointment is forthcoming for County Commission, District 1.

Additionally, Madison County is now WET for the first time in over 100 years, and the official groundbreaking for our NEW hospital is just days away!

We have a cup that is running over, full of new people with new energies, new ideas and most importantly, a new dedication towards making Madison County a better place to live, work and play!

As you go to vote, stop for a moment and realize how critical the opportunity is that lies before you. It is indeed rare to have such an opportunity for new leadership and new dedication, all within one election.

Climbing out of the rut we are in is no longer an option, it is a necessity. We urge you to cast each precious vote as if your children’s future and the future of Madison County depend on it. You know it does!

Every day over 22,000 vehicles drive through Madison County on Interstate 10. Many of these vehicles are tourist with families heading to and returning from Disney World or perhaps visitors and residents from throughout Florida just heading west. Yet we have no signs on the Interstate marking exits for Blue Springs State Park, the Wardlaw–Smith- Goza Mansion or the Ray Charles Childhood Home.

We own our natural resources and our history. We need to promote them. Every visitor we pull from the Interstate is a small boost to our economy. Chances are they will buy gas and food here, or maybe see someplace where they would like to live or retire, maybe even a place to move their business to. Interstate 10 is an economic asset that we are not taking full advantage of!

We will be in Greenville on Wednesday, October 31, at the Greenville Public Library from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM, and at the intersection of US 221 N. and US 90 (next to Cully’s Seafood) from about noon until 2:00 PM. We would love to meet you!

Also, on Wednesday, October 31, be sure to stop by and see us in Madison for a little “TREAT” at the Downtown Halloween Celebration. We will be there from 6:00 PM until the candy runs out. Look for the beautiful “Bride of Darkness” brewing up some steaming magic potion in her giant caldron. I will be dressed as the scariest thing of all, a POLITICIAN!!!! WOOOOOooooooo!!!!

Vote for Ted “BEAR” Ensminger, County Commissioner, District 3. If you don’t live in District 3, you know someone who does. Please help spread the word to Vote for “BEAR” November 6. “Fighting like a BEAR for Madison County!”

From Ted Ensminger – 10/26/12 – Matt Milliron wrote, “Remember, economic growth without compromising our small town values.”

We met Matt during the MadisonYES Campaign. He is in favor of economic growth and more jobs, but not “at any price” and, Matt,
I share your view 100%! There is a vitally important word in any plan to move forward. That word is “BALANCE”, and it represents the fine line between “selling” and “selling out”. I have said time and again, Madison does not need much, but what it needs, it needs desperately.

Our unemployment rate is not acceptable. Equally as challenging is the number of people that are over qualified for their current jobs. Think about it. How many of our young people leave Madison because of the lack of opportunities? I believe ALL OF US, as citizens of Madison County, share the ability and responsibility to bring new business opportunities here. We all know someone, somewhere, who owns a business or is a key manager for a business. Each of those contacts is a potential lead to a company that could move to Madison County. But you say, “I don’t know how to ask them to consider us”. That’s ok. If you’d like to give me the contact information for that company, I, or someone equally capable, will contact them and explain the merits of relocating to Madison.

I believe there are businesses that will seriously consider relocating IF we ask them to! It is kind of like fishing; if you don’t cast, you don’t catch!

There are things that we NEED, like jobs, a better performing school system, a new hospital, Madison money spent in Madison, and then there are things that we want. A Walmart perhaps, or a movie theatre or a bustling downtown would be nice. One lady even wished for an “outlet mall” out by the Interstate.
There is nothing wrong in making the commitment to work to get what we need AND what we want!

There are only 11 days before Election Day. Early voting starts tomorrow. My sweetheart and I will be sign-waving on US 90 in Greenville from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon tomorrow (Saturday, Oct 27). Wave, blow the horn as you drive by, or stop and say hello. We would love to meet you!

My name is Ted “BEAR” Ensminger and I believe in the future of Madison County. I am running for County Commission in District 3. If you do not live in District 3, you know someone who does. Please help spread the word, and please vote for Ted “BEAR” Ensminger on November 6. “Fighting like a BEAR for Madison County!”
