July has been off to a busy start for the members of Madison Hose. July 1st logged 4 calls for service, including a mutual aid structure fire response to Guilford. On Wednesday July 2nd, members started as early as 8am at West Wharf to assist in loading the fireworks barge for the event that evening. Over the course of the day, members responded to 9 calls for service before finishing cleanup from the event around midnight.
On July 3rd, members responded to over 30 weather-related calls as a heavy storm cell rolled through the area. These included multiple entrapments from trees on houses and vehicles, a downed electrical/brush fire near a natural gas line, a vehicle under a live wire, and a slew of downed trees and power lines. July 4th kicked off with members attending the parade, followed by another 9 calls for service. These included multiple responses into Hammonasset State Park, as well as a mutual aid structure fire response to Clinton.
