Our school mail crew, Legacy Postal Service, had the opportunity to learn and explore the U.S. Mail Service on Wednesday! 📬🇺🇸

Students enjoyed meeting a local postmaster and getting an up-close look at a real U.S. mail truck. One special connection made the day even more meaningful — 5th grade postmaster Casen Carter’s dad, Mr. Carter, is a postmaster too!

Pictured in front of the truck are our 5th grade postmasters with Mr. Carter.

Thank you, Mr. Carter, for sharing your time and teaching our students about the important work of the postal service!

A huge thank you to the Aguilar family for taking the time to teach our 2nd graders all about bees, honey, and beekeeping! 🍯🐝

After learning about bees during our insect unit, students loved getting a hands-on look into the fascinating world of beekeeping. From learning how honey is made to seeing real beekeeping tools, this experience brought our classroom learning to life in such a meaningful and memorable way.

We are so grateful for community members (who are Legacy parents!) who share their time, knowledge, and passion with our students! 💛

- EARLY DISMISSAL | Wednesday, May 6 -

Due to the potential for strong storms with high winds and heavy rain expected this afternoon, Madison County Schools will dismiss early to ensure students, including those traveling by bus, are home before the arrival of the most significant weather conditions.

Today, Wednesday, May 6:
- High schools and middle schools will dismiss at 12:15 p.m.
- Elementary schools, intermediate schools, and K-8 schools will dismiss at 1:00 p.m.

All after-school activities and events scheduled for this afternoon and evening are canceled. Buses will run as normal.

We encourage families to continue monitoring local weather conditions throughout the day and to prepare for potential impacts this afternoon and evening.

This decision was made following the most up to date forecast information and briefings from the National Weather Service in Huntsville, which indicate increased confidence in severe weather impacts during afternoon transportation hours.

Thank you for your partnership and support,
Madison County Schools
