If you are without power because of the storms, be cautious with any food stored in your refrigerator.

If the doors stay closed, food will stay safe for up to 4 hours in a refrigerator, 48 hours in a full freezer, or 24 hours in a half-full freezer. Perishable foods should be thrown out if they are stored without power for more than 4 hours.
