2026 Seal Coating
September 16, 2026 (weather permitting)

The City of Madison contactor will begin seal coating the following
various city streets on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 (weather permitting)
at 7:00 A.M.

NO PARKING signs will be placed along the designated streets. Roads will remain open to traffic except for when crews are working. No parking will remain in effect until signs have been removed.

Seal coating will begin in no particular order. City officials are asking residents to watch for and obey the NO PARKING signs and to make sure vehicles are removed from the following street locations.

Cicada Killers- we are receiving calls about the return of the Cicadi Wasps (Other names: Sand Wasps, Sand Gnats, Digger Wasp).

These wasp are a nuisance but not harmful to humans and are good for the ecosystem. Due to the toxicity of the chemicals needed to eliminate the dens, they cannot be used in areas occupied by children and pets.

Due to the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026, the City of Madison garbage collection schedule will be as follows:

Monday's route will be collected on Tuesday, September 8th
Tuesday's route will be collected on Wednesday, September 9th

Garbage carts must be out by 7:00 A.M. to ensure collection

Recycling will be remain as normally scheduled.

* Thursday's route will be collected on Wednesday, July 1st
* Friday's route will be collected on Thursday, July 2nd
* Recycling will be collected as normally scheduled on Wednesday, July 1st (east of Egan Ave.)

To ensure collection please have carts out by 7:00 AM.

City of Madison Garbage Collection Schedule Change

Due to the Independence Day Holiday, Friday, July 3, 2026 (observed), the City of Madison garbage collections will be as follows:

* Thursday's route will be collected on Wednesday, July 1st
* Friday's route will be collected on Thursday, July 2nd
* Recycling will be collected as normally scheduled on Wednesday, July 1st (east of
Egan Ave.)

The Madison Parks Department is conducting mosquito control spraying to help reduce the mosquito population throughout the community.

We conduct mosquito spraying at night when mosquitoes are most active, provided weather conditions are suitable. Spraying is postponed when temperatures are too cool, winds are too strong, or rain is expected.

When conditions allow, we spray throughout the entire community up to three nights per week. Applications are made according to the chemical manufacturer's recommendations, with wind direction and an approximate two-block drift pattern determining which streets are treated each night.

Please be assured that the city is doing everything possible to help residents enjoy summer activities with fewer mosquito-related concerns. In addition to spraying, we are removing or treating standing water on City-owned property and applying barrier treatments in City Park areas to reduce mosquito populations.

We encourage residents to help reduce mosquito populations by eliminating standing water on their property. Mosquitoes can breed in even small amounts of stagnant water, so regularly emptying or removing water-holding containers can make a significant difference.

* Thursday's route will be collected on Wed., June 17th
* Friday's route will be collected on Thurs., June 18th.
* Recycling will remain as normally scheduled
