The date this year for National Night Out is Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 6PM-9PM.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, and more caring places to live.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Madison is excited to welcome K9 teams from across the region for the USPCA Region 26 PD1 Certification Trials, taking place October 26–30, 2026 right here in Madison, Mississippi!

This will be a great week of training, certification, learning, and fellowship as K9 teams put their skills to the test and work toward earning or maintaining their USPCA PD1 Certification.

We’re proud to host this event and look forward to welcoming K9 handlers and their partners to our community!

As school starts back, please do your part to help keep Madison safe.

Our officers will be out each morning and afternoon directing traffic to help students, parents, and school staff get where they need to go safely. Please slow down in school zones, watch for children in crosswalks, and be patient during the heavier traffic.

Put your phone down, stay focused on the road, and get to your destination safely. Most importantly, always stop for a stopped school bus with its stop arm extended. Those few extra moments could save a child's life.

Let's all work together to make this a safe and successful school year for everyone.

UPDATE: The intersection lights are now repaired and traffic is back to normal.

The intersection lights at Highway 51 and Hoy Rd are currently in flash mode. Please use caution in the area as officers will be directing traffic. Utility Companies are on scene for repairs and we will update here once traffic is back to normal.
