Walkerville

Walkerville Walkerville is a tent city on the Capitol square established to watch over and take action on the state budget. We need to keep building our movement.

In February and March, we started building a movement to fight back against the Walker agenda. We came together for an unprecedented, historical series of actions, events and an occupation of the state Capitol. The politicians didn't listen to us then, but we started changing our state. We need to keep taking action, dramatic action, to fight back and take back our state. We are going to be here 2

4/7 while these politicians take up the Walker agenda and this terrible budget. Tremendous cuts to healthcare and education while giving massive tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy will decimate our communities and won't do anything to address the good jobs crisis. They want to strip away rights, like a worker's right to form and join a union. They're not making tough choices -- these politicians are making bad choices. So we are going to make our voices heard and to keep watch over the politicians. We will hold them accountable. In June and beyond, we will continue the fightback. Labor and community are coming together to build a movement, and this is our next big mobilization.

Will you join in the call to demand that 1% Walker use Wisconsin's funds from the nationwide settlement with the banks to help homeowners and victims of foreclosure?

If Gov. Scott Walker gets his way, millions of dollars intended for struggling homeowners could be used to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy instead. Tell Governor Walker he can't steal from the middle class to pay off the wealthy.
