UW-Madison Arboretum is looking for Assistant Naturalists at their summer Earth Focus Day Camp. Help kids enjoy outdoor games, hikes, story time, and snacks.

Henry Vilas Zoo needs volunteers to help with gardening (join a fun, weekly Gardening Work Group) on Thursdays from 8:30-11:30am. Train and Carousel volunteers are also needed to keep the children’s train and carousel running!

Habitat ReStore of Dane County needs volunteers to help sort and shelve donations, to assist shoppers, and to help with home construction in Oregon.

Another very successful Bus Buddy excursion is in the books. Bus Buddies help novice and totally inexperienced riders learn to ride Madison Metro Transit buses. This time the goal was to take the bus to the UW Dairy Cattle Center on the UW campus. Did everyone get there? You betcha they did! After a tour of the Center, they stopped by Babcock Hall for lunch and a little ... ice cream, of course! It was a very Mooooving experience.🙂

𝑨 𝒃𝒊𝒈 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒉𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝑲. for helping everyone learn to plan their trips and to ride the bus. We'd love to expand this program, but we need more volunteers who are experienced bus riders to help the newbies learn to plan trips and use the system. Our Senior Planet tech skills classes aren't all tech, tech and more tech. Actually, they are a lot of fun, and a great way to make new friends. We kick off the morning with coffee and donuts/kringle/bagels, something to get you powered up. Class starts at 10:00 sharp and we go until 12:15 when we all have a little lunch, usually pizza or sandwiches. It's a great opportunity to learn and socialize with people who love learning. AND, we need more volunteer Trainers. If you feel comfortable using your computer and smartphone and would enjoy leading or assisting with these classes or helping others in one-on-one tutoring, please email us at [email protected] to learn more. We need YOU to grow this program beyond our current five locations.
