It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sue Helgesen. Her absence is felt deeply by those who knew her. She had a strong presence and a generous heart. In recent years, she organized celebrations and shared meals for her friends and supporters, creating moments of connection that we will cherish. She became very skilled at diamond art and would spend hours of meticulous work creating beautiful cards for people that she cared about in her life.
Sue shared a lot of stories of her life and experiences and was a great self-advocate for herself and those with disabilities. She participated in many testimonies at the capitol and had membership to many advocacy organizations throughout the years.
We'll miss you, Sue!
In addition to her funeral in Wittenberg, WI on December 13th, a celebration of life will be held in Madison on January 14th 4:30-6:30pm at Door Creek Church Northside Campus.
