It's National Preparedness Month! Do you know what to do if you hear an emergency siren? Outdoor sirens are meant to alert people who are outdoors that something is happening and that they should go inside and check the news for more information. Lake County's siren tests happen on the second Wednesday of January, April, July, and October at 11:00 AM. If the siren sounds at another time, and if it sounds three times, that means there is an emergency and you need to
✅Check a trusted local news source (TV, Radio, Website, NOAA Weather Radio) for more information.
✅Follow the instructions given.
✅Do not call 9-1-1 unless you have a specific emergency, since it could block the line and hinder response for actual emergencies.
