A huge congratulations to RCC’s Natalie DeMaioribus, who became a certified instructor through the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation earlier this spring!

Natalie’s dedication, expertise, and passion for Empowerment Self Defense shine through in every Chimera class she teaches, helping participants build confidence, skills, and a stronger sense of personal safety. We are incredibly grateful to have her on our team and so proud of this accomplishment.

Please join us in celebrating Natalie and the impact she continues to make in our community through Chimera!

Join us in celebrating Natalie Demaioribus becoming an NWMAF Certified ESD Instructor! 🥳🥳🥳

Natalie is an expert facilitator, energetic and hands-on, with 11 years of experience teaching empowerment self-defense and a great sense of humor. Before coming on board to run the self-defense program at RCC Sexual Violence Resource Center in Madison, Wis., she logged over 650 hours as a volunteer on their helpline. Natalie has a background in mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu jitsu. She is a member of the Geological Society of America and loves languages, cooking, and cats.

Today, May 5th is the National Day of Awareness and Action for the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives movement to end the epidemic of violence against indigenous peoples. This crisis is born of colonial violence, systemic racism & misogyny, and the continued neglect of North America’s indigenous communities. Today we honor lives lost, seek answers for those still searching, and amplify Indigenous leadership in the fight for truth and accountability.

A rally will be held on the State St. side of the Wi State Capitol from 12:00-4:00pm. We hope to see you there!

RCC proudly stands in solidarity with immigrant communities by joining the May 1st Day of Action.

"May Day is a long-standing Wisconsin tradition that elevates worker rights and civil rights through collective action. This year, immigrant communities across our state are mobilizing under the call of No Work, No School, No Shopping to demonstrate the essential role immigrants play in our economy, communities, and democracy. Right now, our communities are in a state of emergency; we must reject business as usual and show solidarity in real ways with our immigrant communities."

RCC’s 24/7 emergency services will remain fully available throughout the day, including our textline, helpline, and forensic nurse exam (FNE) accompaniments. Our office will also remain open for walk-in services, including forensic nurse exams—an essential resource for community members seeking support outside of traditional hospital and law enforcement settings.

Thank you to our friends at Voces de la Frontera for their tireless work to uplift and protect immigrant communities across Wisconsin. We hope you’ll join RCC team members at today’s march and rally at the Capitol.
