Topics include an update on the proposed digital currency mining facility, a final update on the City's Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, and a second round of City updates, including the completion of the new lights at Flynn Field.

Beginning June 15, 2026, online credit card payments made through the City of Madison payment portal will require the billing ZIP code associated with the credit card being used.

To avoid payment issues, please ensure the billing ZIP code entered during checkout matches the ZIP code on file with your credit card company. Transactions with an incorrect ZIP code may be declined.

This additional security measure is designed to help protect customers and reduce fraudulent payment activity.

If you experience issues making an online payment, please contact the Finance Office at (605) 256-7500 for assistance.

The next City Commission Work Session is on Monday, June 8th, 2026, at 12:00 PM at City Hall. All are welcome to attend!

During the work session, Commissioners will discuss the City's Utility Fund transfer policy and personnel cost allocation policy, including comparisons with other municipalities and possible future direction.

Finally, Commissioners will discuss the 2026 Resident Communication Survey and potential opportunities to improve communication, engagement, and resident trust based on the survey findings. Staff will seek feedback and direction on possible future actions.

Commissioners will also review the recycling sorting contract and available options ahead of the current contract's expiration in January 2027. Staff will present information on continuing the current program, exploring single-stream recycling, and related cost considerations.
