🇺🇸 Remembering September 11, 2001

Today, the Madison County Board of County Commissioners pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, military members, and countless individuals who served and supported others in the days that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the victims, honor the heroes, and reflect on the strength and unity shown by communities across our nation.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Madison County Parks and Recreation is excited to kick off Adult Church League Softball on Monday, September 21, 2026!

📅 Games: Mondays, weather permitting
🌧️ Rainout: Games will be moved to Tuesday
💰 Entry Fee: $300 per team
⏰ Registration Deadline: Friday, September 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM

🌊 Cherry Lake Beach & Swimming Area — Season Closure

Cherry Lake Beach and the swimming area are officially closed for the season.

🎣 The boat ramp remains accessible via the combination lock, but access is for fishing only.

Thank you for helping us keep Cherry Lake safe and enjoyable for everyone. We’ll see you next season! 🍂

In observance of Labor Day all collection sites will be CLOSED on Monday September 7th

🚮 The Walkthrough Collection Site located in the Industrial Park will remain OPEN for HOUSEHOLD TRASH ONLY.
Please note: Household Trash Only. No other materials will be accepted.

📢 Budget Workshop Notice

The Madison County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Budget Workshop on Wednesday, September 2, at 9:00 a.m. at the Madison County Courthouse Annex, 229 S.W. Pinckney Street, Madison, FL 32340.

📋 Purpose: Discussion of the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Budget for Madison County.

Any person requiring special accommodations to participate in the meeting is asked to contact William D. Washington, Clerk, at least 48 hours before the meeting at (850) 973-1500. If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact the Clerk by calling 711.

The public is invited to attend.
