Respectfully request that if the UW System does not comply with the August 3rd JCRAR Motion to submit their COVID-19 policies to the legislature/JCRAR by September 2nd, that legal action must be taken against the UW System on behalf of JCRAR to force the UW System to comply with state law.

โWhy the Call to Actionโ
As a state agency, the University of Wisconsin System is required by state law to submit administrative rule changes to the legislature, specifically the Joint Committee on Review of Administrative Rules (JCRAR).
On August 3rd, JCRAR passed a motion:

โฆrequiring the University of Wisconsin System, a State Agency, to submit their COVID-19 policies to the legislature/JCRAR by September 2nd, 2021.
However, on August 24th, 2021, UW System President Tommy Thompson statedโฆ

โฆthat he would not be submitting the UW Systemโs COVID-19 policies to the legislature/JCRAR, in violation of the August 3rd motion.
What this means is that the UW System could implement highly restrictive COVID-19 policies such as:
โข COVID-19 vaccine mandates for all students, staff, and even campus visitors
โข Required submission of personal health records such as COVID-19 vaccination status
โข Forced COVID-19 testing requirements
โข Implementation of discriminatory policies against individuals who do not wish to publicly disclose their health records or who have chosen not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine
The UW could also choose to alter their policies at any time, for whatever reason they choose!
As a State agency, the UW System MUST be compelled to follow State Law! The Legislature MUST ensure that UW System submit their COVID-19 policies to the legislature/JCRAR for approval.

I am calling to request that you compel the UW System to comply with State Law and submit their COVID-19 policies to the legislature by September 2nd. I am also asking that the legislature, whose members have taken an Oath to uphold the Wisconsin and U.S. Constitution, take legal action against the UW System if they do not comply with State Law.
