I had a really great night out with Ashley last week at an event supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Shawano

It was awesome to see so many people show up and support something that really matters. The work they do for kids in our community makes a real difference. They provide a safe place to go, help with school, and give them a chance to grow and build confidence.

Nights like this remind me how much good is happening right here in our area when people come together. We’re really glad we went and got to be part of it.

Last week, I had the honor of presenting a citation to Amber Gauthier in recognition of her actions.

When two Pulaski High School students were injured in an accident, Amber stepped in right away. She called emergency services, helped care for them, contacted their families, and stayed until help arrived.

Having been in a major accident myself, I know how critical those first moments can be. The people who are first on the scene can truly make the difference between life and death. Thank you, Amber, for being there when it mattered most!

It is always great to sit down with ABATE of Wisconsin Inc . I have appreciated our conversations in the past, and today was no different. I am grateful for the chance to connect again, hear their perspective, and talk about the issues that matter most to Wisconsin riders. Thank you for your continued advocacy and dedication to motorcycle rights and safety across our state.

Earlier this week I testified in support of Senate Bill 545, legislation I authored to update Wisconsin’s manufactured housing laws and reduce unnecessary red tape.

This bill was prompted by concerns from a constituent who experienced repeated delays and confusion when working with state agencies. As I looked deeper, it became clear that our laws have not kept pace with today’s manufactured homes or housing market.

Manufactured homes are a vital source of affordable housing in Wisconsin, accounting for about 11% of new single-family homes built in 2024. Senate Bill 545 makes common-sense updates by modernizing title requirements, allowing electronic submissions, strengthening consumer protections, and improving transparency.

These reforms will help protect buyers, support responsible dealers, and preserve affordable housing options across our state.

Yesterday, I cast one of the most meaningful votes of my time in office: YES on AJR-010.

During the pandemic, we witnessed something that should never happen in Wisconsin or America. Places of worship were forced to close. Church services were interrupted by law enforcement. At a time when people needed faith, community, and spiritual guidance the most, the government told them they couldn't gather.

AJR-010 sends an unmistakable message that the government may not close or forbid gatherings in places of worship, even during a state of emergency. Our Constitution protects the freedom to worship, and that freedom should never be treated as optional.

Many Wisconsinites turn to their church, synagogue, mosque, or faith community in moments of crisis. This vote stands up for mental health, religious liberty, and the fundamental rights that define who we are.

Last session, SJR 54 passed both houses and became Enrolled Joint Resolution 11 for its first consideration. Now that AJR-010 has passed the Assembly, if it passes in the Senate this session, it will be placed on the ballot this November for Wisconsin voters to decide.

I stand firmly behind this resolution and will continue fighting to protect the freedoms we all cherish.

As we enter the Christmas season, I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. This time of year invites us to slow down, gather with loved ones, and reflect on the incredible gift God gave us through the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ. Even in a world filled with challenges and uncertainty, Christmas reminds us that God’s light continues to shine.

When life feels overwhelming or heavy, we can find peace by turning to Christ and remaining rooted in His Word. Isaiah reminds us that Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace, our source of strength and hope in every situation. The angels proclaimed, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men,” a message that still calls us to live with kindness, peace, and goodwill toward one another today.

As you celebrate with family and friends, I hope you experience moments of joy, rest, and gratitude that point your heart back to the Savior whose birth we celebrate. My prayer is that this Christmas season fills your home with warmth, your days with peace, and your heart with the lasting hope that only Christ can give.
