Greetings All,

Another successful BPSADC Parent Summit is in the books! 🎉
Thank you all for helping make this event truly impactful.
See the photos below!

Heartfelt appreciation to the individuals whose contributions made this day exceptional:
• Dr. Danielle Hairston-Green – our engaging and poised MC, who guided the program with such grace.
• Rev. Baring – for offering a powerful and inspiring invocation.
• Kaleem Caire and Dr. Richard McGregory – for delivering insightful, data-driven presentations that informed, challenged, and motivated our audience.
• The men of Kappa Alpha Psi and Harper Donahue – for their generous donation of refreshments.
• Tracey Caradine – for managing the PowerPoint and ensuring a flawless flow on the IT side.
• Our dedicated BPSA members who showed up in support: Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings, Dr. Gloria Hawkins, Maaina Mack Baker, and Azure Fudge Hart.

A special note of deep gratitude goes to our dynamic leader, Rev. David A. Hart, whose vision, coordination, and leadership were instrumental in bringing this initiative to life.

Stay tuned for next years Summit!

Congratulations to Kirbie Mack on receiving the Legacy Award at the Madison 365 Leadership Summit! Soror Mack’s dedication to social action and political awareness is truly inspiring. She leads from the heart with a commitment to equity and non-discrimination, embodying the values that drive positive change. Her son, Jeff Mack Jr., had the honor of presenting her with the award, sharing heartfelt words that beautifully highlighted her role as dedicated social servant. His tribute captured the profound impact she has made both in her personal life and in her work for the community.

Black high school hockey players who made the All City Hockey Team in the 1960s: Dave Davenport, Ed Mathews II, and Calvin Harris III. Black youth were more involved in sports and activities in Madison than they are today! Every time I hear someone in our community who knows little about Black history in Madison say, "This is the first time..." or "We haven't be able to..." or "We have never...", I bristle. WE HELPED MAKE MADISON WHAT IT IS TODAY, AND IN SO MANY WAYS! What I have been working on writing will show you! Onward. Shout to my cousins: Colin K. Gavin, Aaron Gavin and Maurice Gavin who were outstanding hockey players in their youth in Madison, and to our brothers Colin Jones and Charles Harris who was awesome on those ice skates, too!
