Today, advocates, community leaders, and fellow Wisconsinites gathered at the State Capitol for the annual Pride flag raising ceremony.

Pride Month is a celebration of the courage, diversity, and contributions of LGBTQ+ people in every corner of our state. It is also a reminder that the work of building a Wisconsin where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality continues.

I am grateful to stand with our LGBTQ+ neighbors and remain committed to protecting their rights, advancing their health and well-being, and ensuring every person can live authentically and free from discrimination.

It was wonderful to join community members, local leaders, and library supporters for the ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new Sun Prairie Library!

Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books — they are community hubs where people of all ages can learn, connect, access resources, and build a brighter future together. Investing in public libraries means investing in education, opportunity, and strong communities.

I was proud to join Operation Fresh Start and Habitat for Humanity of Dane County in Sun Prairie to celebrate the power of partnership and the work being done to expand access to safe, affordable housing for Wisconsin families.

It was inspiring to hear from volunteers, community leaders, and future homeowners about the impact these programs are making through workforce development, homeownership opportunities, and stronger neighborhoods.

Thank you to everyone who helped made this open house such a meaningful celebration of community and collaboration!

Today, we celebrate Wisconsin Statehood Day and 178 years of the Badger State!

On May 29, 1848, Wisconsin officially became the 30th state in the Union — built on the values of hard work, strong communities, innovation, and opportunity for all. From our family farms and small businesses to our lakes, parks, and vibrant local communities, Wisconsin’s story is one of resilience and pride.

I’m grateful to serve the people of this great state and to continue working toward a brighter future for every Wisconsinite. Happy Statehood Day, Wisconsin! 💙🧀

Today, I was glad to join the Regional Transportation Roundtable hosted by the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin to hear directly from local leaders about the transportation needs facing our communities.

I appreciated hearing from Chair Kent Knutson of the Town of Rutland, Faith Schuck from the Town of Pleasant Springs, and the Mayor of Waterloo/Jefferson County Board Supervisor Jenifer Quimby about the challenges local governments face in maintaining roads, supporting economic growth, and keeping communities connected.

These conversations were critical as we continue working toward sustainable, long-term transportation investments that support Wisconsin families, businesses, and local communities.

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin in Washington DC to discuss many issues impacting our agricultural industry, including the increased prevalence of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).

It is vital that our communities have the resources available to them to deal with outbreaks when they arise and that we are sharing information and data across state and federal agencies to ensure swift action when cases arise and prevention techniques.

Thank you Senator Baldwin for being a steadfast advocate and dedicated servant on behalf of our wildlife and agricultural industries here in Wisconsin.

In honor of Memorial Day, I attended the Rock Day Ceremony at Fort Atkinson High School and celebrate the traditions, leadership, and school spirit that make this community so special.

It was wonderful to see students, staff, and families come together to recognize the hard work and dedication of Fort Atkinson’s men and women who died while serving in the US military. Events like Rock Day remind us how important it is to invest in our schools, support our students, and celebrate the connections that strengthen our communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize this meaningful tradition and for the warm welcome!
