Im shocked I have to this, but Governor Tony Evers is right. Legislative Democrats and a couple Republican Senators let the state down yesterday. The bipartisan surplus deal was not perfect, but these partisans let politics get in the way.

Last night, I voted in favor of a bipartisan tax relief plan that would have provided nearly $3 million to property taxpayers in the 39th Assembly District. Unfortunately, the state senate failed to pass it.

Wisconsin hunters: you have until Sunday, May 31 to apply for a chance at a 2026 elk hunting license. Selected applicants will be notified in early June.

Wisconsin residents can submit elk license applications online through the Go Wild license portal or in-person at a license sales agent. The application fee is $10 for each of the bull elk and antlerless elk drawings and is limited to one application per person, per authorization type. All applicants should check and update their contact information to ensure contact with successful applicants.

For each application fee, $7 goes directly to elk management, monitoring and research. These funds also enhance elk habitat, which benefits elk and many other wildlife. If selected in the drawing, an elk hunting license costs $49.
