Today is the day - the MFD Engine 3 Wetdown! The event - with a $10 charge that includes a mug and food - kicks off at 3pm and goes until 9pm at Public Safety Complex (62 Kings Road).

Outstanding job by our 1st responders

This afternoon at around 12:19pm, Morris County Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from Drew University (36 Madison Avenue), where it was being reported that multiple juveniles were experiencing inhalation issues due to chemicals from the pool.

The 14 individuals received medical attention on the scene and were later transported to Morristown Medical Center for observations.

This morning around 7:20am, Madison Firefighters responded to Chatham Borough to assist Chatham Fire Department at the scene of a commercial structure fire on Main Street. Three businesses sustained heavy damage, but there were no injuries. Madison Building Department also responded to the scene to inspect the structure damage after the fire was extinguished.

We appreciate East Hanover Fire Department who provided coverage while Madison was out of town.

Yesterday afternoon Madison Fire Department was requested to help a resident remove her wedding ring of 50 years that was stuck on her finger. Thanks to the recently purchased “Ring Rescue” a device that is designed to remove rings without having to cut them off, they were able to remove the women’s wedding ring without damaging it or injuring her.

On August 17, 2021 at approximately 5:10pm, a three-alarm fire took place in Madison. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Morris County Prosecutors Office Arson Unit, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison Police Bureau of Investigation.
