🌞Food for thought this morning🌞

❓Have you thought lately that living in Madison County is like walking or running on gravel? Because lately that’s how I've been feeling.

I’m hopeful the new fiscal court line up brings better outcome for everyone involved.

🎥This video is a little reminder that kids are resilient and can take the uneven ground without fear of the outcome. But as adults it’s a different, we know that the pain that continues will leave a lasting effect on our future.

💐When you take away the farmlands, our children and grandchildren will be the ones who end up suffering. Not now, but the future will no longer be an open field with wildflowers, it will consist of houses, apartments and stores.

🌞What an awesome day it was to be apart of the Madison County community! Despite the summer warmth, a breeze graced our gathering, making for a truly enjoyable atmosphere for everyone who joined us.

🙏🏽We extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who made our meet-up such a success. Your enthusiastic presence truly brought the event to life, and we are already looking forward to building on this wonderful start with many more gatherings in the future.

🐔🍗A special and heartfelt thank you goes out to Nola Wings LLC DBA Chicks Wings Express LLC for allowing this to be our very first local food truck. Their culinary contributions were nothing short of spectacular! From their mouth-watering wings to their incredible service, they added an unforgettable flavor to our event.

🤳While we were so caught up in conversations, we didn't capture as many photos as we would have liked. However, we did manage to snap a few candid shots of some of the wonderful faces that brightened our day.

😎We can’t wait to see everyone out tomorrow at Nola Wings LLC DBA Chicks Wings Express LLC. We will be set up at 1pm!

Fingers crossed the weather plays nice, but even if we get a few sprinkles, don't you worry! We'll be all set up. I'll have a canopy and some tables ready to go, so we'll be comfy whatever Mother Nature decides. To make sure everyone has a seat, it would be incredibly helpful if you could bring along a chair if you have one.

🍯🐾Remember to bring a non perishable food item for the food bank or something for the Madison County Animal Shelter. Anything we can do to support our community is what we strive to do!

Get ready for a fantastic community get-together this Friday! We're thrilled to invite you to join us for an afternoon(1pm-2:30pm) of delicious food and wonderful company at the popular Nola Wings LLC DBA Chicks Wings Express LLC in Richmond.

This beloved local spot is conveniently located in the Big Lots parking lot, making it easy to find and access. We're envisioning a relaxed, informal gathering where friends and neighbors can truly connect. To ensure everyone feels comfortable and can settle in for some great conversation, we encourage you to bring a comfortable chair or the tailgate if you are riding in a truck!

To amplify the positive impact of our event, we're also organizing a small community drive. We kindly request that attendees consider bringing either a non-perishable food item to support our local food bank or a donation for Madison County Animal Shelter. Your generous contributions will make a real difference to those in need and help us gauge the participation for the community-focused events!

This gathering is all about celebrating our shared community spirit and highlighting the fantastic local businesses, like NolaWings, that enrich our area. We truly hope you'll come out, enjoy the vibrant ambiance, and help us shine a light on what makes Richmond so special.

‼️🚨I've been thinking about how great it would be for us to connect more outside of our usual work stuff, and also to really dive into all the amazing local spots our community has to offer. So, I cooked up a fun idea that I'm super excited about!🚨‼️

👀My vision is to start a casual, monthly get-together where we can all just hang out, chat, and enjoy some fantastic food and drinks. Think of it as a chance to unwind, strengthen our bonds, and explore the awesome culinary scene right on our doorstep. It's a win-win: we get to spend quality time together, and we also get to show some love to the wonderful independent businesses that make our area so special.

📆I'd love for all of you to join in! The plan is to meet up on the second Friday of every month. We'll alternate between lunch and dinner. Each month I’ll pick a different local restaurant, mobile truck or eatery to try out. This way, we get to experience a variety of places!!

🍔🌯🍕☕️To make sure this turns into an absolutely epic series of events, I need your input! What are your absolute favorite local gems? Do you know a cozy café/mobile truck with the best coffee, or a hidden culinary treasure that deserves more attention? Please, spill the beans! Very upsetting!! Not one voted against it.

Tonight, I left the Madison County Planning and Zoning meeting deeply disappointed.

The room was packed with citizens who simply asked for one thing: to table the decision on converting more than 700+ acres of farmland into an industrial park. This isn’t a small decision. It has the potential to impact not only one county, but surrounding communities and neighboring counties for generations to come.

What was most eye-opening was watching every member vote the same way despite the concerns voiced by so many citizens. Whether you support or oppose the project, the people deserved more time, more discussion, and more transparency before moving forward with a decision of this magnitude.

Now the matter moves to the Fiscal Court. I sincerely hope they take the time to listen to the people, carefully consider the long-term consequences, and make the decision they believe is in the best interest of Madison County—not just for today, but for future generations.

Growth is important, but so is protecting our farmland, respecting property owners, and ensuring that major decisions are made thoughtfully and transparently. I still believe our voices matter, and I encourage everyone to stay engaged and continue participating in the process.

We’ve felt the weight of decisions that didn’t consider the whole community, and it’s that weight that drives us now. We’re standing up not because we want to fight, but because we deeply care about what this place can be. We know that accountability isn’t optional; it’s a foundation. We’re not looking to tear anyone down—we want everyone to rise up to the responsibility we all share. We believe in a future built on transparency, where decisions are made with honesty and respect for every citizen. We’re saying enough, not out of anger alone, but out of love for this community and hope for what’s ahead. So we’re not stepping back; we’re standing taller. We’re calling on everyone to join us in shaping a future where we can all be proud of what we’ve built, together.

We kindly request that you notify us if you require assistance with carrying items into the office, and we will be more than happy to accommodate your needs by retrieving them from your vehicle.

Wow, I just had to gush about our recent visit to Newby Country Store! Honestly, if you haven't experienced this gem yet, you're truly missing out. It's more than just a place to grab what you need; it has this incredible, heartwarming vibe where you instantly feel right at home. From the second you step onto that charming porch, it’s like you’re welcomed into the best kind of family.

Speaking of awesome, a massive, heartfelt thank you to the team at Newby Country Store for stepping up and pouring so much of their time and effort into raising funds for the flood victims. It's incredibly inspiring to see such genuine care and commitment to helping out the community. What an absolutely special spot this is!
