Madera County Sheriff's Office The Madera County Sheriff's Department was formed in 1893, the same year the County of Madera was founded. The county’s first Sheriff, W.H.

Serving Madera County since 1893, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office protects unincorporated communities through Patrol, Investigations, Special Operations & Professional Standards while leading emergency response and coroner services countywide. Thurman, served from 1893 to 1895. Sheriff Tyson Pogue is the 15th Sheriff to serve Madera County. Sheriff Pogue is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer and

Chief Coroner of Madera County. He is responsible for providing public protection and investigating crimes that occur within the unincorporated areas of Madera County. The Madera County Sheriff’s Department is divided into four distinct and critical levels, all of which operate under the direction of Sheriff Pogue. Those sections are: the Valley Division, Mountain Division, Corrections Division, and Administrative Division which oversees the offices of records, dispatch, civil process and court security.

🚨🩸 BATTLE OF THE BADGES HAS BEGUN! 🩸🚨

The 25th Annual North Valley Battle of the Badges Blood Drive is underway, and the Madera County Sheriff's Office is currently in 2nd place! We need your help to make a lifesaving impact in our community.

Join us for our first Mobile Blood Drive:

⏰ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Madera County Jail
195 Tozer Street, Madera

Every donation helps provide critical blood supplies to local patients and earns points for the Madera County Sheriff's Office in the Battle of the Badges competition.

Can't make it on June 2? You can still support Team Madera County Sheriff's Office by donating at any Central California Blood Center location throughout the month. Be sure to tell them you're donating on behalf of the Madera County Sheriff's Office.

We will also be hosting at least two more mobile Blood Drives in the month of June:

The Evacuation Warning due to fire for the following location has been lifted for Zone MAD-E1509

There are no longer any Road Closures for this incident.

Sheriff's Office Deputies and CAL-FIRE Crews are still in the area working. Please use caution while traveling in the area.

Today, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office joined together with Madera County Probation, Madera Police Department, Chowchilla Police Department, Valley State Prison, Central California Women’s Facility, California Highway Patrol, and Madera County District Attorney’s Office to run alongside members of the Madera County Special Olympics Team, in the annual Madera County Special Olympics Torch Run.

We are so grateful to be part of this community effort to support our inspiring Madera County athletes. Thank you to our generous local partners, community members, and fellow agencies for making this year’s run a success.

Since 1981, the Law Enforcement Torch Run has grown into the largest grassroots fundraising movement for Special Olympics worldwide, with law enforcement officers proudly serving as the “Guardians of the Flame.”

The Madera Guardians, a group of local law enforcement personnel, invite our community to come together in support of Special Olympic athletes by helping raise awareness and funds for year-round sports training, competitions, inclusion, confidence, and community engagement. 💙💛
