The incarnation was the birth of a baby, fully God and fully man, yet vulnerable; fully dependent upon His mother and father. Mary and Joseph journeyed to Bethlehem and happened upon an unprepared birthplace. A space fit for livestock became the labor and delivery room where the cry of a baby ricocheted off the walls and reverberated into the earth as a trumpet, announcing the arrival of the King of Kings.
God doesn't often appear in the polished and perfected. He didn't choose comfort, and He wasn't phased by mess. Jesus came to fill unprepared places. What places in your life or your heart feel unprepared for God to access? He isn't waiting for you to prepare a perfect place for Him, He's waiting for you to invite Him into your imperfections. As we remember and celebrate the birth of Christ, we pray that you stay present with the God who has come to fill unprepared places.
