Neighbors:
Many of you have come to know me during my time on Madeira City Council and on the Planning Commission. I’ve listened first, been accessible, responsive, and used my professional expertise in government relations and economic development to the benefit of Madeira.
I listened when Madeira voters voted to hold the line on earnings taxes and against adjusting the credit to effectively increase the earnings tax.
I listened as our community crafted its first ever Comprehensive Plan and have used the plan to guide my priorities: improving McDonald Commons, increasing pedestrian safety; making traffic safety improvements and increasing the vitality of the downtown business district.
I’ve been responsive. If you’ve taken the time to reach out to me, I’ve answered- whether we agree or not, my response was timely, respectful, and offered my thinking on the issue. I believe we can disagree without being disagreeable.
I’ve used my knowledge of government and government programs to work with the administration to aggressively apply and advocate for federal, state, and local grants. And we’ve been successful – winning $215,000 for McDonald Commons improvements, $3.5 million for traffic calming and pedestrian safety improvements on Miami Ave to mention just two significant awards.
Last, but not least, I believe the principle of focus of city government is the provision of core public services: police and fire; maintaining our roads; trash collection; and quality parks. All of which lead to the high quality of life we’ve come to enjoy and expect in Madeira.
It has been my privilege to serve on Madeira City Council. My commitment to you is to continue listening, being responsive, focusing on core services and using my experience to serve our community. Together, we will make our great community even better.
I respectfully ask for your vote.
