FF/PM Kavaris Service and Trish Eaton, Executive Assistant to the Fire Chief, joined hundreds of supporters at the 4th Annual Sgt. Anthony Muhlstadt Defender Ruck, honoring Anthony and the countless service members who have silently carried the weight of stress, trauma, and isolation while serving our country.

Before becoming a firefighter, Kavaris served in the U.S. Marine Corps, deploying alongside his friend and brother-in-arms, Anthony Muhlstadt.

FF Service recently had the honor to assist with the Sgt. Anthony Patrick Muhlstadt Foundation scholarship selection process, helping identify a recipient who embodies the leadership, character, and commitment to service that defines Anthony’s legacy.

Anthony’s life, service, and loss remind us that strength does not mean suffering alone, and that su***de prevention begins with connection, education, and the courage to seek and offer support.

Also joining the event were friends of the department and the mission, including Karey Burek, Media Coordinator for the Legends Never Die 5K, and Alex Bessler of MES, our first sponsor of the 5K.

This week, Fire Marshal Perez attended a one-day summit for child safety advocates held at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The training brought together professionals dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injuries, with a strong focus on strengthening skills, building partnerships, and enhancing collective outreach efforts to better protect children in our communities.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in important discussions on E-bike safety, drowning prevention, gun safety, and hypoxic blackout prevention, all critical topics aimed at reducing risks and increasing awareness among youth-serving organizations.

Familiar faces in the crowd - our Recreation Director Jay Hatch and Recreation Leader III Max Michalski also attended this valuable workshop, joining fellow professionals committed to advancing child safety initiatives.

Florida Suncoast Safe Kids is led by Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg and serves five counties in the Tampa Bay area. As a member, Fire Marshal Perez actively supports and helps advance the coalition’s mission throughout the community. He remains deeply engaged in ongoing child safety outreach efforts, including hosting life jacket giveaways, speaking at schools and community events, and educating children and families on fire safety, water safety, and overall injury prevention. His continued involvement helps strengthen local partnerships and reinforces ongoing efforts to keep children safe in everyday environments.

🔥❤️ LEGENDS NEVER DIE — AND NEITHER DOES THIS COMMUNITY’S LOVE. ❤️🔥

Mark your calendars for April 11th, 2027

We are reminiscing about the Madeira Beach Fire Rescues Legends Never Die 5K! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

This event is so much more than a race — it’s a
powerful reminder that the brave men and women who run toward danger every single day deserve just as much support when the sirens stop. Mental health awareness for our first responders, active military, and veterans isn’t just important — it’s essential. These heroes carry weights the rest of us will never fully understand, and events like this shine a light on the courage it takes to ask for help, just as much as the courage it takes to serve.

To every runner, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who showed up — YOU are the reason this mission lives on. 💙

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to WFLA News Channel 8 for their incredible ongoing coverage of the event. Your dedication to telling this story means the world to our community and helps spread this vital message even further. 📺🙏

We are already counting down to next year! Mark your calendars, lace up those shoes, and get ready — because Legends Never Die, and neither does this community’s commitment to those who protect us. 💪🔴🔵

See you ALL next year! 👊❤️🔥

We Start the Call. Nurses Carry the Care Forward.

Compassion is at the heart of everything nurses do, and we are grateful to work alongside professionals who bring comfort, kindness, and care to people during some of their most difficult moments. Every day, nurses and first responders work together as one team, providing not only medical care, but reassurance and support to those who need it most.

We deeply appreciate your partnership, your professionalism, and the heart you bring to every patient encounter.

Thank you for all you do. We are proud to serve beside you. Happy Nurses Week from the Madeira Beach Fire Department!
