Want more butterflies, songbirds, and vibrant life in your yard? Did you know traditional gardening methods often don't support the wildlife we love? Join the Lower Macungie Environmental Advisory Council for an inspiring presentation with local speaker Karen Campbell on how to turn your yard into a pollinator paradise!

Join us on October 15 at 7 pm at the Lower Macungie Community Center (3450 Brookside Road, Macungie) to learn simple, eco-friendly approaches that transform your outdoor space into a bustling sanctuary, from native plants to welcoming next year's generation of pollinators.

Karen is a PA Master Naturalist, Certified Pollinator Steward, and award-winning macro photographer specializing in native plants and local wildlife interactions. Most of her stunning close-up photography is captured right on her own Lehigh County property, where she and her husband transformed a former cornfield into a thriving native plant preserve.

Come get inspired by Karen's incredible photos and see what’s possible right in your own backyard!

This presentation is free, but we ask that you RSVP to [email protected] to reserve your spot. Please share with family and friends!

Looking for a native plant that offers a pop of color? Check out this Closed Bottle Gentian plant found in a garden here in Lower Macungie. This is a late blooming plant where the flowers never open and provides nectar for strong bumblebees that muscle their way into the blooms.

Seeing a Bald Eagle in the wild is always a treat... and seeing one perched on the roof of your neighbor's house in Lower Macungie is even better! This majestic eagle was spotted on Monday and spent time surveying the neighborhood while neighbors looked on. Have you seen any bald eagles near your home?
