🦖 We had a BIG surprise visitor at the Washington Memorial Library today during the Out of the Box Dino Discovery Show!

If you missed today’s show, you’ll have another chance to see it at 11:00 AM this Saturday at Washington Memorial Library!

During the show, patrons learned about how dinosaurs lived, how their fossils were formed, and ways we can identify what type of dinosaur the fossils belonged to. They also got to touch and take pictures with life-like dinosaur puppets!

This program counts towards 60 minutes of your Summer Reading Challenge goal, so be sure to log your attendance!

🌧️ The rain isn’t stopping us from having library fun for Summer Reading! Take a look at how our branches are getting creative to Unearth a Story!

At the Charles A. Lanford, M.D. Library, patrons sifted through sand for fossils, then unearthed their creativity with fiber arts to weave tiny pouches for their Triassic treasures!

There was Mesozoic magic at the Montezuma Public Library with a spectacular show from Magician Ventriloquist, David Mitchell! Kids from the audience joined the performance to help David bring his dino puppets to life.

Patrons at the Hancock Branch and Jones County Library embarked on a dig for prehistoric fossils and examined soil samples with help from Georgia College & State University to learn about how geologists use soil to understand Earth’s history.

📚 Our branches have lots of fun and educational programs like these to help your kids continue reading throughout the summer! Come see what’s happening at your library, or visit www.bibblib.org/calendar for upcoming events.
