🎓🥳 Congratulations to this year’s graduating class of the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program!

Every year we celebrate the success of pre-school aged children who log reading books, listening to story times, and practicing literacy skills 1,000 times with a graduation ceremony at Washington Memorial Library.

Graduates received a certificate of completion, a commemorative t-shirt, and their choice of a book to take home!

This program, also known as 1KB4K, is proven to help children ages 0 to 5 develop vocabulary and language skills critical to their success in school, and supports their ability to learn to read. We appreciate the Junior League of Macon for supporting this program.

You can register your child for 1KB4K by picking up a reading log at your local MGRL branch, or through the Beanstack App. To learn more, visit bibblib.org/1kb4k

We encourage you to register the whole family for our Summer Reading Challenge even after 1KB4k to help keep your young readers' literacy skills on grade-level and beyond! Click here to learn more: bibblib.org/summer_reading
