Thank you, Central Georgia!! ❤️

This year’s United We Dine for Brookdale raised more than $15,000 to support the Brookdale Resource Center and the individuals and families it serves. The community-wide fundraiser brought together more than 40 restaurants, coffee shops, small businesses, and residents across Central Georgia to support struggling individuals and families at Brookdale.

Since opening, Brookdale has served more than 5,000 people, including more than 1,000 children, helping connect them with resources and pathways to permanent housing.

United We Dine for Brookdale highlights the power of local businesses and residents coming together around a shared commitment to care for neighbors in need!

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nation's history, honor the resilience and achievements of Black Americans, and celebrate the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

Last week, community members gathered at Rosa Parks Square for a wreath-laying ceremony to honor those who came before us and recognize the significance of this important day in American history.

The celebration continues this Sunday, June 21 with the annual Juneteenth Parade at 4:30 PM, bringing our community together in remembrance, reflection, and joy.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Texas, marking a pivotal moment in our nation's history. Today, we celebrate freedom while recognizing the importance of continuing to build a stronger, more inclusive community.
