The future of Macon-Bibb is being planned, and your voice should be part of it! The next Comprehensive Plan workshop is today (Thursday, September 3) at Mill Hill Community Arts Center.

The Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission is continuing its community workshops focused on land use. These conversations will help guide how our community grows, including the neighborhoods, businesses, amenities, and spaces we want to see in the years ahead.

Last Thursday, August 27, we celebrated 1,500 more feet of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail!

The newest stretch connects the Jay Hall North River Access at Amerson River Park to the new James Hyde Porter Overlook, giving people even more opportunities to walk, bike, and explore along the Ocmulgee River.

The trail now stretches more than 13 miles, continuing a vision that began nearly 30 years ago to better connect our parks, neighborhoods, and Downtown Macon.

Last Wednesday, August 26, Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency distributed 350 free NOAA weather radios to help residents have another reliable way to receive potentially life-saving alerts.

The giveaway wrapped up National Emergency Management Awareness Month, but preparedness is important year-round. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts, including MBCAlert, weather radios, cell phone alerts, and local media.
