🎂 Happy birthday, Walker Percy! 🥳

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1916, this Mississippi writer was taken in, along with his brothers, by his cousin, William Alexander Percy, a poet and lawyer in Greenville. The birthday boy is best known for his novel The Moviegoer, for which he won the National Book Award in 1962. You can view his marker on the Mississippi Writers Trail in Greenville at the E E Bass Cultural Arts Center.

👠 Spot the fake, look-alike challenge: lady in red edition 💋

Ever notice how book designers use similar covers over and over and over again? The "lady in red walking away" has been especially popular with the historical fiction crowd lately, so popular that we don't think you'll be able to spot our addition to the genre. Ten points to whoever finds the fake without an internet search!

If you're having trouble separating out the real deal from fake news, head to your local Mississippi public library. You'll find great resources to help you with work, school, and play. And hey, if you just happen to be looking for a book with a lady in red on the cover, they can help you with that, too!
