Please help us celebrate Mr. Whipple as he begins his new journey as Principal of Heritage Elementary School! While we are so excited for this next chapter, this one hits the heart… because we will truly miss him dearly at Southfield. For the past four years, Mr. Whipple has been more than an Assistant Principal. He has been a steady leader, a champion for students, a supporter of teachers, and a vital part of what makes Southfield such a special place. Heritage is gaining an incredible leader, and we already know he’s going to continue doing what he does best. Mr. Rooney R. Whipple, thank you for all you’ve poured into Southfield. You will always be a part of the Stallion family. Now go lead, inspire, and shine at Heritage like we know you will!

BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN THE FIELD! ​When our students walk through the doors this school year, they are going to be greeted by some incredible surprises! They deserve the absolute best, and it has been an honor to help create a space that reflects just how much they are valued, loved, and supported. This beautiful transformation wouldn't be happening without the incredible support of the Bibb County School District. A special shoutout to Sam Kitchens, Cam Bryant, and Antonio Simmons. While the rest of our Stallions are on break, Dr. Laney discovered a few unexpected “feathered scholars” roaming the grounds like they had enrollment paperwork for summer school. 🤣 If you’re missing a few chickens, they’ve been spotted conducting scientific observations on our school lawn.

Congratulations, Stallion Nation! We are officially a LIGHTHOUSE CERTIFIED school! Overjoyed, grateful, and fired up... this is the result of our students, staff, and families working together. We've built a culture where students lead, teachers empower, systems align, and excellence is the standard! This recognition represents the work, the growth, and the commitment behind the scenes that people don't always see, but it shows!

What a wonderful way to close out an amazing school year! This past Wednesday, we celebrated the dedication, passion, and hard work of our incredible faculty & staff during our End of Year Academy Awards. Each award recognized the unique contributions that make our school such a special place for students and staff to learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you to our entire faculty for your commitment, teamwork, and unwavering support throughout the year. We hope everyone has a well-deserved, restful summer!

We greatly appreciate our Speech-Language Pathologist, Mrs. Badik! She does a phenomenal job supporting and connecting with our students every day. We are grateful for the heart and expertise she brings to our Stallion family!

Let's go, Stallions, let’s go!

Eleven schools in Bibb County were honored the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement in its latest “Beating the Odds” list! This designation honored schools that out-performed schools across the state with similar demographics related to socioeconomics, race, student disability and other factors. GOSA uses the performance data for those similar schools to create an expected range of CCRPI scores, and each school noted as “Beating the Odds” performed above that range.

Our Stallion Sneaker Ball was fantastic! Our students looked amazing! The "Mission Accomplished in May" Attendance Challenge ended on a high note. Shoutout to all of our families for supporting our efforts with reaching our goal on the last day of school!
