This National EMS Week, the City of Macedonia proudly recognizes our dedicated EMS crew for their commitment to keeping our community safe.

The majority of calls to our Fire Department are EMS-related, and our paramedics and EMTs are there every day providing critical care and responding when our residents need them most.

Thank you for answering the call and making a difference throughout our community. We appreciate all you do for Macedonia! 🚑💙

🚨Mayday Alert for Chief Mecklemburg’s family🚨

Ohio’s Jamie Meklemburg served as the Fire Chief of Seven Hills for over six years. He previously held the rank of lieutenant with the Brooklyn Heights Fire Department and spent more than fifteen years with the Valley View Fire Department. Outside of his career, he was deeply involved in his children’s activities, coaching his daughter’s softball team and regularly attending his son’s hockey games and tournaments.

On April 5, 2026, Chief Meklemburg passed away after a battle with mental illness. He was widely respected and loved by both his community and the firefighters he worked alongside. He is survived by his 16-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son. A beacon of kindness, he exemplified what it means to be a public servant and a friend, touching many lives throughout his career. Let’s provide the Meklemburg family some love and support while they face this difficult loss.
