Delivering jet fuel on-time to wherever it’s needed by warfighters relies on precisely engineered and finely tuned aircraft. Carrying out the mission day after day puts components under stress and takes careful and skilled Airmen to maintain them.

Our NonDestructive Inspections lab train and work with specialized equipment and techniques to guarantee MacDill Air Force Base’s KC-135 Stratotankers are free of cracks and invisible defects even after years spent preserving air superiority.

Their experience and skill prove the Air Force Reserve is a force advantage.

Yesterday, I testified before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense on the Air Force Reserve FY27 budget. My message was clear: the Air Force Reserve is a strategic, cost‑effective force delivering global readiness.

Our Reserve Airmen proved that readiness by deploying within 72 hours in support of Operation Epic Fury. To remain Ready Now while Transforming for the Future, I emphasized the need for continued support in three critical areas:

• Proportional investment in weapon systems
• Meaningful duty status reform
• Improved medical care, including TRS access and higher dental caps

Taking care of our Airmen directly drives retention and ensures the Air Force Reserve remains a lethal, accessible force for the nation. I was proud to advocate for and represent our Reserve Airmen today.

MacDill AFB is now at FPCON CHARLIE. This posture allows us to implement deliberate security measures proactively. All personnel should remain vigilant, follow the direction of security forces, and report any suspicious activity immediately. Everyone plays a role in base defense – if you see something, say something. Report suspicious activity to the base defense operations center at 813-828-3322.

Please be patient as we expect delays and heavier than normal gate traffic.
