We are heartbroken to announce the passing of retired K9 Rogue.

Rogue was one of the original Shelter to Search pups, going from homeless at City of San Antonio Animal Care Services to a dedicated search canine with Texas A&M Task Force 1 from 2014 to 2021. During his career, Rogue deployed to support communities affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Michael, Tropical Storm Barry, the Polk County and North Texas tornadoes, and the Wimberley flood.

From shelter dog to a hero that helped others, thank you for your service, Rogue. Rest easy.

Currently available through San Antonio Pets Alive

Luna is a great 10-12 month old mix breed pup that is looking for a home of her own. Her foster brought her by for screening. Luna does not have toy drive necessary for detection work but she’s is a confident, social, and balanced dog. Luna had no problem with having her feet, ears, or muzzle messed with by a stranger. She also did not flinch at the airhorn and had no hesitation walking on novel surfaces. Luna has gotten along with the other dogs in her foster home with careful introduction and as long as food and treats are not left out. She also did well on trips out to Home Depot. Luna could potentially make a great service or therapy dog or just a great loyal pet. Message the page and we will put you in contact with her foster family.

New Braunfels, TX - Private Rehome

We screened Sir this week. He’s a 13 month old neutered shepherd mix that is confident and friendly. Sir did not have enough toy drive for detection work but was very food motivated. He is tolerant of strangers messing with his ears, feet, tail, and teeth. Sir didn’t flinch when we set off a surprise airhorn. We think Sir would make a great service dog candidate or possible food reward based detection candidate.

Message the page and we will put you in contact with Sir’s owners for more information.
