📢 Budget Season Has Begun!

The City of Lyons has officially started planning the 2027 budget, and we want to hear from you.

What services, projects, and improvements are most important to you? Your input helps guide City Council and staff as we establish priorities for the coming year.

We encourage residents, business owners, and community members to attend upcoming council meetings and share their thoughts during public comment on what should be prioritized in 2027.

Council meetings are the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 6 pm at City Hall.

Together, we can help shape the future of Lyons.

The City of Lyons plans to begin mosquito fogging operations tonight, weather permitting. Crews will attempt to spray twice each week throughout the season to help reduce mosquito populations and improve outdoor comfort for residents.

Please note that mosquito fogging is dependent on weather conditions. For spraying to occur, there must be no precipitation (rain), and wind speeds must be below 10 mph. If weather conditions do not meet these requirements, spraying may be delayed or rescheduled.

Last week's late night swim brought in over 300 attendees, making it a great opportunity to connect with the community and serve swimmers and families.

Heads up, Lyons! A clean up is scheduled at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. The scheduled clean up dates are:

📅 June 10-12, 2026

City residents are asked to remove any items they wish to keep before June 10, 2026. During the clean up, the Cemetery Department will remove all other items, including broken ornaments and tattered decorations, except:
• Shepherd hooks
• Flowers attached to headstones
• Decorations attached to headstones
• Items placed in vases

The clean up will be completed on June 12, and new flowers and decorations may be placed beginning June 13.
