🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT 🚨

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has issued a public safety alert due to a natural gas leak near Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Norton Avenue.

Residents in the affected area are advised to shelter in place as a precaution:

- Go indoors immediately
- Close all doors, windows, and vents
- Turn off HVAC systems
- Remain indoors until authorities indicate it is safe to go outside

🚧 Sidewalk Improvement Project Update 🚧

The City of Lynwood will begin its Annual Sidewalk Improvement Project on June 22, 2026, with construction anticipated to be completed by July 3, 2026. The project will include the removal and replacement of damaged sidewalks, curb ramps, curb and gutter improvements, and signal pole relocations at various locations throughout the city.

To help ensure public safety and minimize disruptions:
• Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted 72 hours before work begins.
• Construction hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Vehicle and pedestrian access may be limited during work hours.
• Please use caution when traveling through active construction areas.

The City appreciates your patience and cooperation as we continue investing in safer, more accessible infrastructure for our residents. Thank you for helping us improve our community!

🚨 City Notice: Boyle Heights Fire Alert 🚨

The City of Lynwood is aware of a large commercial building fire currently burning in Boyle Heights. Due to smoke impacts, the Los Angeles Fire Department has issued a regional emergency notification advising residents in nearby communities to shelter in place as a precaution.

At this time:
• No evacuation orders have been issued.
• Residents are encouraged to remain indoors, especially those sensitive to smoke.
• Keep doors and windows closed and, if possible, set air conditioning systems to recirculate indoor air.

The City will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
