Founded in 1971 The NFDW hosts national and state-level conferences and activities. The NFDW is a recognized constituent group of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and therefore has three seats on the DNC and the president of NFDW is part of

the executive committee of the DNC. The NFDW has 37 chapters around the country and looks to expand to every state and protectorate.

Did you know Denim Day began after a court overturned a SA conviction, claiming that because the survivor was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped remove them—implying consent?
The next day, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in protest. That moment sparked what is now Denim Day, a global movement to challenge victim-blaming and support survivors.

✊🏾To Dolores: your silence protected millions. Your voice now protects millions more. We see you. We honor you. I stand with you as you always stood for us.

She carried what none of us should carry alone.
As a Mexican immigrant and as a Latino man, I was raised to revere the names of those who fought for our gente. Dolores Huerta is one of those names inseparable from sacrifice, from courage, from the ground farmworkers stand on.
Today she did something breathtaking in its bravery: she told the truth she protected for 60 years! not out of shame, but out of devotion to a movement bigger than herself.

I come from a culture that too often silences women. That asks them to endure, to forgive, to disappear into the cause. Dolores endured. She gave everything. And still she was harmed by a man our community deified.

Holding space for both realities the genuine progress of the farmworker movement and the harm done by its leader is not a contradiction. It is maturity. It is justice.

Cargó lo que ninguno de nosotros debería cargar solo.
Como inmigrante mexicano y como hombre latino, me criaron para venerar los nombres de quienes lucharon por nuestra gente. Dolores Huerta es uno de esos nombres inseparables del sacrificio, del coraje, de la tierra que pisan los trabajadores del campo.
Hoy hizo algo que quita el aliento por su valentía: dijo la verdad que protegió durante 60 años no por vergüenza, sino por devoción a un movimiento más grande que ella misma.

Vengo de una cultura que demasiadas veces silencia a las mujeres. Que les pide aguantar, perdonar, desaparecer dentro de la causa. Dolores aguantó. Lo dio todo. Y aun así fue lastimada por un hombre que nuestra comunidad deificó.

Sostener ambas realidades el progreso genuino del movimiento de trabajadores del campo y el daño causado por su líder no es una contradicción. Es madurez. Es justicia.
