Happy First Day of Summer City of Lynn!
As the season heats ups, we want to remind everyone to stay safe...whether you are heading to the beach, the pool, or just enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
A few summer safety reminders:
🚗Never leave children or pets in a hot car (check the back seat when exiting the car)
🏊🏼‍♂️Swim near lifeguards when possible and use flotation devices if necessary
🌡Stay hydrated and watch for signs of heat exhaustion
🚴🏽Wear a helmet especially on an E-Bike or E-Scooter
🍦While not necessarily a safety reminder, look for our Copsicle at parks and events throughout the summer, as you are never too old for an ice cream.

Today we observe Juneteenth; a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in America and while honoring the enduring strength, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans.
We wish everyone in Lynn a meaningful Juneteenth.

The teen center will be closed on June 19, June 26, and July 3. It will reopen on July 10th!

You see them rolling, patrolling, and interacting with the public, especially downtown. Our CBD Bike Patrol Team had a busy week. They assisted with the Annual Bike to Sea Day which featured over 150 riders cruising through Lynn as they made the journey to Nahant. Bike to the Sea connects communities to the Northern Strand Trail. They also assisted St. Josephs with a prayer procession. Over 300 participants stopped at High Rock Park, the Police Station and the Shelter to offer prayers.

Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development held the H.A.L.T Basketball Game over the past weekend. Curwin Circle Kids versus the Lynn Police/Lynn Fire Departments. The Curwin Circle Kids came out on top in overtime! Such a great event! Lynn Community Connections Coalition.

Traffic Alert
Commercial Street at the Lynnway is currently closed while State Police investigate a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Delays are expected. Please avoid the area if possible.

Lynn Police are excited to reintroduce motorcycle patrols to address crime and traffic concerns throughout the city, as well as to support ceremonial events. A key component will be targeted traffic enforcement aimed at addressing ongoing neighborhood complaints related to speeding, unsafe operation, and quality-of-life concerns.
