๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ Thank You, Chris! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ“ธ

The members of the Lynn Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to Chris Dungan and 911 Fleet Service for spending the morning with us during our live fire training.

Chris brought Seek Thermal Cameras that allowed our firefighters to gain valuable hands-on experience using thermal imaging in realistic fireground conditions. Opportunities like this help our members better understand the capabilities of this technology and how it can be used to improve firefighter safety, locate hidden fire, and assist during emergency operations.

We greatly appreciate Chris taking the time to support our department and invest in the training and development of our firefighters.

Thank you for helping us continue to learn, grow, and better serve our community! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Training Day Success ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Today, members of the Lynn Fire Department joined firefighters from several surrounding departments for a live fire training event at the Wi******er Fire Department Training Center.

This valuable training opportunity was funded through District 6 as part of a โ€œLight and Fightโ€ program. Firefighters were able to sharpen critical skills including:

๐Ÿš’ Forcible Entry
๐Ÿš’ Hose Advancement
๐Ÿš’ Nozzle Techniques
๐Ÿš’ Fire Behavior Recognition and Understanding

Training like this helps ensure our members are prepared to respond safely and effectively when our community calls for help. The realistic, hands-on environment provided an excellent opportunity to build confidence, improve teamwork, and strengthen the skills needed on the fireground.

A big thank you to everyone who helped organize and participate in todayโ€™s training. It was a great success, and we appreciate the continued commitment to firefighter education and safety.

๐ŸšจA couple members spent the morning testing water eductors as a way to supply a dump tank. We used a Firovac hvll strainer, a 5 gallon pal as the float and a 2.5โ€ hose to power the jet siphon. This was after a discussion with Andy at The Water Thieves LLC about if heโ€™d tried this opposed to a traditional water eductor designed for this. After several test runs and text to Andy we achieved 700 gpm at 250 psi on about 60ft of 5โ€ LDH. ๐Ÿšจ Itโ€™s estimated at about 50% efficient.

This gives us another option for getting water for our rural water supply.

Members of the LFD helped the elementary students at Randolph Southern celebrate the last day of school with a little water and mud fun! It may have been a little chilly, but that didnโ€™t stop the kids from having a great time.

This event gave our members the opportunity to get in a little training while also spending time with the children in our community โ€” a win-win for everyone involved.

We hope all the students, staff, and families have a safe, fun, and enjoyable summer break! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ’ฆ

Disclaimer: No city water was used during this event.

โ›ช๏ธ Last but certainly not least, a heartfelt thank you goes out to Spartanburg United Methodist Church. After more than 200 years of serving the community, the church will be ceasing operations in the Burg. โ›ช๏ธ

Their generous donation to the Fire Department will help us continue our mission of serving others and supporting our community for years to come. Their impact will continue even after their doors close, and for that we are truly grateful.

This gift was unexpected, deeply appreciated, and a true reflection of their commitment to the community they have served for generations.

From the men and women of the LFD, thank you for thinking of us and for finding a way to continue giving back to the community. Your legacy will not be forgotten.
