Since 1896, Lyndon Electric Department has provided reliable electricity and superior service to the community of Lyndonville and the surrounding towns. Lyndon Electric generates, transmits, and distributes energy to a total of 13 towns in the area. Lyndon Electric is the largest municipal electric department within the state of Vermont, based on square miles of service territory. Hours:

The Affordable Community Renewable Energy (ACRE) program can help you save $29.55 per month on your electric bill.

ACRE is powered by a new community solar project in Barton, VT, bringing clean energy savings straight to your home.

There are two eligibility requirements

1. You are a residential customer of one of the following electric utilities: Barton, Enosburg Falls, Hardwick, Jacksonville, Johnson, Ludlow, Lyndon, Morrisville, Northfield, Orleans, and Swanton.

2. You participate in one of the following benefit programs; 3 Squares VT, Essential Person, Fuel Assistance or Reach Up (Reach First, Reach Ahead, PSE) OR have a household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.

Outage Update:
An LED crew has been dispatched to Bible Hill/New Boston Road Area. Another line crew to Elliot Road, Diamond Hill, Bedor Lane, and Old Bradley Road. Hardwick Electric has sent a crew to assist with outages on Peak Road/Cold Hill in the Saint Johnsbury/South Wheelock/ Vertical Mile areas. There will be trimming patrols around Underpass Road and the end of Route 5 in Sutton. All efforts are being made to restore power this evening. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these weather related outages.

POWER INTERRUPTION NOTICE

Customers in The Town of Lyndon Electric Department (LED) service area for Sheffield and Glover will experience a planned power interruption on Wednesday March 4th approximately 4 hours from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. This outage is for NEK Broadband make ready work.

Any customers off or near Berry Hill, Hardscrabble Mountain, Maple Row, Blake Pond, Nelson Hill, Mosher, Ott drive, Sheffield Square, Keniston Hill, Dunn Mountain, Hod Brooks, Gilman Field, Tildys Trail, Dry Pond and Quarry roads will be affected. If there is inclement weather an alternate date of Thursday March 5th 9:00am to 1:00pm will be used.

Apply by February 28th for the Seasonal Fuel Assistance Program.

The Seasonal Fuel Assistance Program helps low-income families pay a portion of their home heating bills. Assistance is for homeowners or renters who pay for heat or who have heat included in the rent (heated renters).

Eligibility Criteria: Monthly GROSS income up to 185% of federal poverty levels (adjusted annually). There are no resource limits.

Benefit Payments: For all eligible households, a single benefit is paid between November and April (firewood / wood pellet payments start in September). For households who pay for heat and their primary fuel type is oil, kerosene, propane, coal, natural gas, or electric, fuel assistance benefits are paid to the fuel supplier. For households who pay for heat and their primary fuel type is firewood or wood pellets, benefits are issued to an EBT card for the household. For households who have heat included in their rent, benefits are issued to an EBT card.

Customers in The Town of Lyndon Electric Department (LED) service area for East Burke, East Haven, Newark and Kirby will experience a planned power interruption on Wednesday February 18th through Thursday February 19th for approximately 3 hours from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am.

This outage is for emergency repair of an insulator. If there is inclement weather an alternate date of Thursday February 19th through Friday February 20th will be used.
