Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the launch of our new electric mobile library, the Edie Bell-Brown Bookmobile! We had a great turnout for the event — which doubled as the start of our Summer Learning Program and the first Family Fun Friday of the year — and it was wonderful to see the community’s enthusiasm for our new vehicle. Thank you to Fenton Chester Arena for allowing us to host the program there as a rain location, and we appreciate Building Bright Futures for cohosting this event with us! 😄

We made the news! Last night, Lizzie Jensen of WCAX aired a story about our brand new mobile library, also known as the Edie Bell-Brown Bookmobile! It was a super cool experience, and if you haven't had a chance to see it, the video is below:

If you are interested in seeing the bookmobile up close, please join us this Friday, June 19th from 4 pm to 6 pm in Bandstand Park (with a rain location of Fenton Chester Arena) for the first Family Fun Friday of the year, which is also serving as our Summer Learning Program kickoff and our Bookmobile Launch Party! Families can enjoy watching a performance by the amazing Pirate Man Dan, and we will have plenty of books, toys, games, and prizes to give away to kids. We hope to see you there!

A Lyndonville library's 27-year-old book delivery service just got an electric upgrade, giving it a cost-effective way to bring books to the community.

We have some very exciting news to share! We encourage you to tune into WCAX at 6 pm tonight, because the library will be featured in a story about our new bookmobile! Reporter Lizzie Jensen was kind enough to drive up to Lyndonville today with a camera crew to ride along with Colleen as she visited three of her usual stops: The Lyndon Institute Toddler Group at the NEKCA Family Resource Center, Play & Learn Daycare & Preschool Center, and the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center. We can’t wait for everyone to see the news story tonight!

The Cobleigh Book Club is set to meet next Tuesday, June 23rd at 11:15 am for a discussion of "Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft & Mary Shelley." It is the first time our group is discussing a non-fiction book, so we are very excited! If you would like to join, there is still time to pick up a copy of the book from the library.

Announcing the 2025-2026 Red Clover Book Award Winners!

The Red Clover Book Award is Vermont's kids' choice book award for outstanding picture books. Each year, thousands of kids from all around Vermont vote for their favorite Red Clover nominee!

At Cobleigh Public Library, kids who take part in our Red Clover Book Club read and discuss all 10 Red Clover nominated books, enjoy related art projects and other fun activities, and at the conclusion of the program they vote for their favorite, and their votes are added tally to help choose the statewide winner.

Some years the favorite here at the Cobleigh turns out to be the same as the statewide winner, but often our kids have a different preference, and that was the case again this year...

This year the favorite among those who voted here at Cobleigh Library was The Cafe At The Edge Of The Woods, by Mikey Please.

The book that got the most votes statewide, winning the Red Clover Book Award, was Whale Song, by Zachariah Ohora.
