The Town of Lyndon is accepting bids for roadside mowing for the summer of 2026. The mowing should begin after July 1st, 2026, and be completed by July 31st, 2026.

An articulating mower would be required, with mowing to occur during daylight hours only. The mowed area would need to extend out to eight feet (8’) from the edge of the road. Any established flowerbeds or flowering/decorative trees or shrubs located within that area would need to be mowed around. Additional work would include a single pass to remove brush (tree limbs) back even with the edge of the road. Proper safety signage must be placed roadside while mowing.

The vendor must provide proof of proper insurance and would be responsible for providing proper signage in the areas being worked.

All bids must be for a flat fee amount for the entire job.

Please submit two references from either Municipalities or States that you have performed roadside mowing services for.

A tour of the roads to be mowed can be done by calling Robert Nutting (Town Road Foreman) at 626-5877 during normal working hours.

The Town of Lyndon reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. Questions may be directed to my attention at 626-5834.

Sealed bids must be received by no later than Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the address above.

Lyndon Road Update:

Lyndon is still facing a salt shortage. With the extreme cold temperatures we are experiencing, snow covered roads are becoming icy. We are applying sand. The Town is still down three employees and a sidewalk machine.

Please use extreme caution, especially when turning from State to Town highways. Current road conditions require slower driving speeds. We appreciate your patience while the Town continues to do what we can to ensure safe driving conditions.
